About
APEXA began in 2014 as an industry project: nine carriers and managing general agencies, working with Toronto consulting firm LOGiQ3, set out to replace paper advisor contracting with one shared online record. The platform went live in August 2017 after delays, with Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life, Industrial Alliance and Empire Life on its governance board. RGA acquired LOGiQ3 in January 2018; MIB Group bought APEXA from RGA in May 2022, citing 95% of major Canadian life insurers and 50,000+ advisors on the service.
Backers
Owned by MIB Group, which acquired APEXA from RGA in May 2022; before that a subsidiary of LOGiQ3, which RGAx acquired in January 2018. Both changes of control are reported by Insurance Portal (2022-05-19) and Insurance-Canada.ca (2018-01-09, 2022-05-19). No venture funding is reported in anything read for this page.
