About

Chatter sold to Fortune 500 retailers and banks from very early on — Foster's argument on the TechTO stage was that shipping unfinished software into a big organization taught them more in hours than months of internal iteration would have, provided you answer the feedback almost hourly. The company went through 500 Startups in Mountain View, where a partner told Foster twenty seconds into a pitch that it was terrible; he came back, rebuilt the pitch, and TechCrunch named Chatter one of its favourites at demo day. Stingray, the Montreal music and media company, bought it in January 2020 to extend its in-store retail media business into customer analytics.

Backers

Venture-backed in the US and Canada, including 500 Startups, which ran Foster through its Mountain View accelerator. Full investor list not sourced.
