About
ICON exists because the sectors it targets are, in co-founder Marilyn Raphael's words on the TechTO stage, difficult to get into and very challenging. Rather than run a job board, it combines technical skills training, soft skills training and a warm introduction into a network of corporate partners who want to widen their candidate pool and not just their hiring pipeline. Programs run under the ICON Scholars, ICON Careers and ICON Leaders names. Fasken and KPMG are among the firms that became partners, and Ivey Business School announced a collaboration with ICON in January 2021 to increase BIPOC representation in business education. Derrick Raphael became its first full-time employee.
