About

Indiegogo launched in 2008, founded by Danae Ringelmann, Slava Rubin and Eric Schell with the aim of democratising funding for businesses and creative projects. It started out serving filmmakers and grew into the main crowdfunding venue for consumer hardware, where a campaign functions as a pre-order and a market test at once. The San Francisco company says it has raised more than US$2 billion for over 800,000 creative, entrepreneurial and altruistic ventures. Steve Tam brought the platform's view of what was coming next to TechTO in October 2015, in a talk called Let's Talk About Tomorrow. He is now co-founder and CMO of Parable.

Backers
