About
Josh Zweig and Chad Davis, both CPAs, met in February 2013 with what their own timeline calls the idea of combining technology and tax under one roof. LiveCA grew as a distributed firm — no office, staff spread across provinces — from 11 people in 2014 to more than 60 by 2019, running regional meetups in six provinces along the way. The firm serves new and established businesses "expecting to earn $1M to $200M+ next year", handling bookkeeping, payroll, corporate and personal tax. In 2023 it renewed its business model around an exclusively Canadian-based team. Zweig came to TechTO in July 2019 to talk about remote hiring specifically: what goes wrong when you hire people you never meet in person, and how to run the process better. LiveCA had by then been hiring that way for six years.
Backers
