About
Reckitt sells consumer health and hygiene products. Its eleven Powerbrands are Dettol, Lysol, Harpic, Finish, Vanish, Strepsils, Nurofen, Mucinex, Gaviscon, Durex and Veet. Reckitt Benckiser plc was formed in 1999 from the merger of Reckitt & Colman and Benckiser NV; the group dates its own history to 1840 and is headquartered in Slough, England. It dropped Benckiser and rebranded as Reckitt in March 2021. In 2024 it announced a split into three businesses — Reckitt, Essential Home and Mead Johnson Nutrition — and completed the sale of Essential Home to Advent International on 31 December 2025. For full-year 2025 it reported core like-for-like net revenue growth of 5.2% and adjusted operating profit up 5.3%. Timo Oluschinsky spoke for the company at TechTO's MarketingTO in April 2019, sharing the stage with Fil Lourenco of Havas Canada on digital transformation in categories under disruption. Introducing the business as Reckitt Benckiser, or RB, he described how the packaged-goods model of factory to retailer to consumer had been broken open by direct-to-consumer selling and cheaper media, and argued that across many categories it was now small brands taking share rather than the large incumbents.
