About

Rewind sells backup and recovery for data that lives inside other companies' cloud apps, so a business that loses a store, a repo or a ledger can roll it back. Mike Potter told the TechTO Together stage in February 2021 that he and James Ciesielski started the company in June 2015 and ran it nights and weekends for 18 months, going full time only in February 2017 once part-time revenue could cover four salaries. Weeks before that talk Rewind had closed a $19 million CAD Series A led by Inovia Capital, with Ridge Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners. In July 2026 the Boston growth fund H.I.G. Growth Partners became its majority backer; Potter stayed on as CEO and he and Ciesielski remained major shareholders.
