In their words
We're basically Slack and PagerDuty for healthcare. That's the quick story of it.
Pagers are not real-time, so people pick up consumer texting apps like WhatsApp and iMessage. But you still can't understand who's on call.
Clinicians have to spend 45 minutes to an hour triaging through the phone just to figure out who's the family physician.
Quick answers
What is Hypercare?
A healthcare communication and coordination platform, 'Slack and PagerDuty for healthcare,' that replaces pagers, fax and consumer texting with secure real-time messaging, on-call scheduling and clinical task hand-offs. Co-founded and led by Albert Tai.
Why did Albert Tai start Hypercare?
While doing a master's at the University of Toronto he shadowed on-call physicians and was struck that they still coordinated patient care with pagers and fax machines. Hypercare is his answer to that problem.
Who uses Hypercare?
More than 60 healthcare organizations across North America, including SickKids and Health Sciences North, supporting thousands of clinicians.
