Quick answers

What is Erin Bury known for?

Co-founding Willful in 2017 and running it as CEO since 2019. Willful lets Canadians create wills and powers of attorney online, and says more than 500,000 Canadians have used it.

How did Willful start?

Her husband Kevin Oulds had the idea after his uncle died in 2015 without an estate plan. It launched as Final Blueprint, a place to record wishes outside a will; almost nobody paid for it, so they pivoted to online wills in 2017.

What did she do before Willful?

Director of communications at Sprouter, a founding team member and tech journalist at BetaKit, then managing director of the marketing agency Eighty-Eight for about six years.
