Did Guillaume Plante co-found Emma?
Yes. BetaKit's Series A story of 13 April 2022 says Emma was "Founded in 2017 by Deschatelets, his brother Jacomo" and CTO Guillaume Plante. Investor Tactico's write-up of the same round, 19 April 2022, repeats the three-founder account.
Is Guillaume Plante still Emma's CTO?
Unconfirmed as of 2026-09-21. The most recent source naming him is BetaKit, 13 April 2022. Emma's own site carries no team page and no mention of him (emma.ca home, about, partners and careers pages, all checked 2026-09-21); its 22 October 2025 product announcement and a Conseiller article of 9 December 2024 quote only CEO Félix Deschatelets.
What is Emma?
A Quebec online life insurance company that sells its own term and permanent policies through a website and app. BetaKit reported on 13 April 2022 that it had raised a $6 million Series A, taking total funding past $7 million. In December 2024 Conseiller reported it was adding third-party administration and an advisor distribution network using Equisoft's systems.
Where is Guillaume Plante based?
Not established. BetaKit (13 April 2022) places Emma's founding in Montréal and the company's 22 October 2025 announcement is datelined Montréal, but no page I fetched states where Plante himself lives, so the city field is left empty.
