In their words
don't just look for somebody who has many more years experience than you because i have another mentor who actually has 20 years less experience than i do
that's very important is not just to reach out for help but to also reach your hand back and help somebody else
letting them know about your successes so they know that the help you've provided them has made a huge impact to your life and that's what keeps the mentors going

Quick answers
What was Jennifer Lennox's career path into tech?
She started in retail and as a server, then built an HR career at CIBC and Home Depot before joining CareGuide and, in 2020, Sensibill as VP of People — going from an employer of 15,000-20,000 people to one of about 70 (TechTO stage 2020-10-21).
What is her advice on finding a mentor?
Three things, from her TechTO talk: be vulnerable enough to ask; don't only look for someone more senior — one of her own mentors has twenty years less experience than she does; and pick someone unlike you, whose strengths cover the competencies you want to build.
How does she say you should use a mentor's time?
Prepare. She sends notes in advance naming what she is struggling with, and closes the loop by telling mentors what their advice changed — which, she says, is what keeps mentors going.
Where does she work now?
As of May 2023 she was Vice President of People, Culture and Learning at AutoCanada (The Great Canadian Leadership Podcast, 2023-05-30). Anything more recent is not established from a publishable source, and this page does not publish from LinkedIn or contact-data aggregators.
