In their words
Our sweet spot is really A's and B's, though we led Nikolai's seed and A. So we certainly do seed, all the way up through early growth.
We spend most of our time in two areas. Smart enterprise, which we define as vertical enterprise software for those industries that power society — healthcare, finance, gov tech.
We're San Francisco based, but I spend my time between New York and SF. We invest everywhere though.

What is Kimmy Scotti doing now?
She is founder and managing partner of Neon, an early-stage venture firm she started in 2023, and co-founded Fig.1, a skincare brand, in 2021. She is no longer listed on 8VC's team page and is described as an adviser to the firm.
What was her role at 8VC?
Founding partner, focused on consumer and healthcare. On the TechTO stage in February 2019 she said the firm had about US$3B under management with that fund at roughly US$680M, and that Opencare — whose seed and Series A 8VC led — was her only Toronto investment.
How far back does the founding go?
To high school: she started a fashion jewellery line sold in Bloomingdale's and featured on Project Runway. She later co-founded the women's health company Monthly Gift, which she was chairing at the time of the TechTO talk.
