I would like to convince you tonight that the traditional textbook needs to die. Over the last 200 years universities have been hotbeds of technological innovation, and yet their classrooms and the textbooks used in those classrooms have hardly changed at all.
The thing that really ties all these people together is they feel that these other apps out there are extremely intimidating and high pressure, and Plenty of Fish allows them to feel good about themselves.
I went to the University of Waterloo and studied engineering, and my first profession was as a hardware engineer. I spent fourteen and a half years in EdTech, which included founding two startups and then being at Top Hat for five years as the chief product officer, and then I moved across Canada to become CEO of Plenty of Fish.
