Who is Migel Tissera?
A co-founder of Metaspectral, the Vancouver hyperspectral imaging company he started with Francis Doumet in 2018. He was its chief technology officer, and spoke about the technology on NVIDIA's AI Podcast in 2021.
What was PixelDrive?
Metaspectral's first product, and the company's first name. A convolutional network compressed images to a fraction of their size with no loss of resolution — on the TechVancouver stage an 11 MB photo came down to 583 KB.
What does Metaspectral do now?
It deploys deep-learning models against ultra-high-resolution hyperspectral imagery, with customers in space, recycling, agriculture and defence. It raised a $4.7-million seed round in November 2022.
