Did Sean Kirby co-found Nulogy?
Yes. Waterloo Engineering's report on its 2017 awards dinner (uwaterloo.ca, 2017-11-21) says Nulogy was "Founded by classmates Sean Kirby (SD '02), Jason Tham (SD '02), Kevin Wong (SD '02) and Jason Yuen (SD '02), and Tham's father, Donald Tham (MASc '78)", and photographs the five receiving the faculty's Team Alumni Achievement Medal. Nulogy's own team page (nulogy.com/company/team/sean-kirby, read 2026-10-24) calls him "An original Nulogy Founder with over two decades of enterprise software experience."
What does Sean Kirby do at Nulogy today?
He is listed as "Distinguished Engineer, AI Innovation, Founder" on Nulogy's leadership page (nulogy.com/company/our-leadership, read 2026-10-24), "responsible for advancing Nulogy's AI capabilities and technical innovation across the platform." Until at least January 2025 the same site titled him Chief Architect and said he "graduated at the top of his class at the University of Waterloo" and brought experience "from the software, telecom, automotive, and medical research industries" (Wayback capture of nulogy.com/about-us/our-leadership/sean-kirby, 2025-01-15).
How did Nulogy start?
In a living room. Waterloo Engineering (uwaterloo.ca, 2023-04-04) describes "A company launched by four Waterloo Engineering classmates in a living room 'with old computers and no salaries'" that went on to raise $20 million from Export Development Canada and a Canadian bank in 2023. The 2017 awards report said the company had grown to 150 employees in downtown Toronto.
Has Sean Kirby spoken at TechTO?
No. Nulogy's TechTO connection is co-founder Kevin Wong, who presented "Kung Fu Fiving" at TechTO on 2016-12-19. No interview or podcast featuring Kirby was found (searches run 2026-10-24); the only coverage naming him is Waterloo Engineering's alumni news.
