Cannabis Digest reported in November 2015 that he established it in 2013 as a web-based communications hub; Strategy dated the founding to 2014. Strategy reported on February 6, 2018, announcing Lift's new chief marketing officer, that she "takes on the lead marketer's role from Tyler Sookochoff, who founded the company to serve the medical marijuana market in 2014." Cannabis Digest had already described Lift on November 16, 2015 as "a web-based, independent communications hub established in 2013 by Tyler Sookochoff." Both sources call him the founder rather than a co-founder.

What was Lift & Co.?

A Canadian cannabis information business that grew out of a blog into product reviews, market data and trade events. Strategy described it on February 6, 2018 as "a firm that specializes in shopper data and technology in the cannabis market" with about 30 full-time staff. Georgia Straight reported on August 12, 2016 that it held its first Lift Expo in Toronto that May and a second at the Vancouver Convention Centre that September.

What happened to Lift & Co.?

It went bankrupt. The company's own news release of September 17, 2020 states that Lift & Co. Corp. (TSXV:LIFT) "has made a voluntary assignment for the benefit of its creditors under section 49 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada)," after failing to agree with secured creditors on a sale of its marketing division, and that all directors and officers resigned. Its websites at lift.co and liftandco.com no longer load, checked September 22, 2026.

What does Tyler Sookochoff do now?

Not established. Strategy reported on February 6, 2018 that he had spent the previous two years hiring executives to take over Lift's leadership responsibilities, and Matei Olaru had been named CEO in 2016. No page checked on September 22, 2026 confirms a current role for him, and the company's own websites are offline, so no present-day title is claimed here.
