About
Akinox's origin is the reason it works where it does. Before the company existed, its founders deployed a virtual care system for populations in Northern Canada that had no roads and no phone networks, let alone a clinic — a project the company says brought virtual care to more than 60 per cent of Quebec's territory. Akinox was founded in 2010 on the conclusion that a system built for that environment would work anywhere. It now sells to governments and healthcare institutions rather than to consumers, with a platform called Akinox Linx and a set of named solutions: Telemedix for virtual care, Pandemix for pandemic response, Diagnostix for early childhood disability screening, Digimatix for automating clinical and administrative workflows, and CarePath. In 2017 it worked with Quebec on the eConsult and Agir tôt programmes. The company describes itself as 100 per cent Canadian with a team of more than 100. Alexander Dahl is founder and chief executive; Mark Casselman, previously chief executive of Digital Health Canada for nine years, joined as chief growth officer in August 2024.
