About
Alavida delivered alcohol-use-disorder treatment remotely, letting clients set their own goals rather than committing to detox or abstinence. As founder Elliot Stone described on the TechVancouver stage in 2018, the model paired addiction physicians and masters-level therapists with a technology platform for daily tracking over a roughly six-month program. The company launched in Vancouver and expanded across North America before LifeSpeak acquired it in October 2021.
Backers
Genome BC (2018 round); founder Elliot Stone said the company had raised $3M+ by late 2018. Acquired by LifeSpeak in 2021.
