About
Bidmii is a Toronto proptech company that runs a marketplace for home renovations. A homeowner describes a project and a 'before' photo, Bidmii sends it to every contractor serving that area and trade, and contractors request a site visit or place a bid. When a homeowner picks a contractor, Bidmii collects the project funds and holds them in trust, releasing payment within 48 hours after the homeowner approves the finished 'after' photo. The model is built to solve two problems Christensen cited on stage: homeowners burned by stolen deposits, and contractors waiting months to get paid. Bidmii is free for homeowners and contractors and takes no cut of jobs, monetizing instead through Bidmii Pro contractor subscriptions and add-ons like AI-powered quoting and financing. Christensen founded the company in 2020 with his brother James and a friend, Phillip, who became CTO.

Bidmii raised through a FrontFundr equity-crowdfunding round, which Christensen described launching from the TechTO stage in 2023. Other funding is not detailed here.
