About
BioConnect sells a multi-modal authentication platform plus its own biometric readers, letting enterprises add biometric identity to access control systems they already own. It was the first to bring a biometric mobile authenticator to market for physical access. In November 2025 Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX), best known for automotive electronics, acquired the company; founder and CEO Rob Douglas now leads Gentex's Security & Access Control team, formed by combining BioConnect with EyeLock, an iris biometrics business Gentex obtained through its purchase of VOXX International. Bianca Lopes took the TechTO stage for BioConnect twice, in 2016 as VP of strategic marketing and global partnerships and in 2017 as chief identity officer.
Backers
Now owned by Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) following the November 2025 acquisition. Earlier backers are not confirmed here; BDC Capital provided $2M in 2020 to retain technical staff during the pandemic.
