About
ConnectWise sells to the companies that run other companies' IT. Its platform covers professional services automation and ticketing, remote monitoring and management, ScreenConnect remote access, quoting, billing and a security line that includes managed EDR and SIEM — the tools a managed service provider uses to take on more clients without adding staff for each one. Its own site describes a global IT community of more than 100,000 peers around the products.
Brothers Arnie and David Bellini started the business in Tampa, Florida in 1982. It stayed founder-run for most of its life; private equity firm Thoma Bravo acquired it in 2019.
On 20 January 2026 ConnectWise announced it had acquired zofiQ, the Toronto company whose AI agents work inside service-desk queues — triage, resolution and documentation — nine months after zofiQ's product launched. ConnectWise's own release says partners already running zofiQ saw a 20% increase in endpoints managed per technician. zofiQ co-founder Lee Silverstone joined the ConnectWise leadership team and told the story on a TechTO Together Toronto stage that March.
Backers
Owned by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which acquired ConnectWise in 2019 in a deal widely reported at US$1.5 billion. The company was founder-owned before that.
