About
DataStealth's approach is to intercept data in transit rather than ask applications to change: its platform discovers and classifies sensitive data flowing across a network, then tokenizes, encrypts or masks it, so the systems behind it never store the real values. That makes it a fit for payment-card and health data, and the company is a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. Its customers are telecoms, banks, insurers and healthcare organisations. In October 2023 Michael and Richard Hyatt — who previously built and sold Dyadem and BlueCat — took a majority stake, buying out the previous majority shareholder for close to $7 million; BetaKit reported the company was then profitable on more than $10 million of annual revenue with a team of about 45. Michael Hyatt is executive chairman.
Backers
Michael and Richard Hyatt hold the majority stake taken in October 2023; Volition Capital lists DataStealth in its portfolio. The company was bootstrapped rather than venture-funded before that.
