About
John and Muriel Ingle founded John Ingle Insurance in Guelph in 1946, covering new immigrants and visitors arriving in Canada after the war, and moved the business to Toronto in 1950. It became known for multilingual service and for student and travel health insurance through the 1950s, then expanded into the Caribbean. Their son Robin Ingle joined in 1976, became president in 1985 and bought the business four years later, running it until the family's interests in Ingle Health were sold in 1998. He retained the Ingle name and re-entered the Canadian market in 2003 as Ingle International, which today sells travel medical, visitor, student and expatriate cover and operates in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Robin Ingle presented at TravelTechTO in May 2017 on closing the geographic gap in travel health.

Privately held and family-controlled. No outside investment is disclosed; the family sold its interests in the predecessor business, Ingle Health, in 1998 and Robin Ingle restarted under the Ingle International name in 2003.
