Lydia Lee, a KPMG partner and its national digital health lead, spoke at TechTO's HealthTO in April 2019 on why Canadian healthcare struggles to scale and sustain innovation. Drawing on her own years inside the system, including a stint as a hospital chief information officer, she called Canada 'the land of pilot projects' — no shortage of good ideas or hard-working people, and a persistent inability to carry them past the pilot.
