Baldean's read was that consumer scheduling had never gotten the tooling that enterprise calendars had: the back-and-forth of finding a time was still manual, and the answer was to sync availability across platforms and let the app propose the slot, share directions and handle the logistics. A location-aware layer let members find others nearby and swap contact details. He came to it after more than fifteen years in Toronto's financial sector, where he concluded the career escalator had jammed. The Upside Foundation profiled him in August 2016, when the company was still in stealth and described as headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area with people in Toronto and Zurich. His June 2016 TechTO talk was not a product pitch — he ran the room through a live wisdom-of-crowds experiment, passing a jar of jellybeans around and collecting guesses through a Twitter bot. The crowd's average landed within six percent of the true count of 137; the average individual was off by forty-nine percent. MeetVibe has since closed and meetvibe.com no longer resolves.
