About

TechTO gave Microsoft a whole evening in June 2018 — a special edition on AI, with two talks in the archive. Ranveer Chandra, who leads Microsoft's agriculture work and invented FarmBeats, presented on data-driven agriculture: sensors, drones and models applied to farms rather than to datacentres. The panel that followed was moderated by Ozge Yeloglu, then chief data scientist at Microsoft Canada and previously co-founder and CEO of the Halifax startup TopLog, and brought Canadian AI founders on stage to argue about where the technology was actually going. Microsoft itself was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen and reported US$281.7 billion of revenue in the fiscal year ended June 2025.
