About
Moneta — named for the Roman goddess of memory — calls what it does physical therapy for the brain. The program pairs licensed therapists with voice AI and runs over an ordinary telephone rather than an app, a deliberate choice that puts it inside the homes of older patients in rural areas and in what the company calls neurology deserts. It is reimbursed by Medicare, TRICARE and a growing list of Medicare Advantage plans, and the company reports that 71 to 94 per cent of patients improved across clinical outcome measures, at or above national in-person benchmarks. Paul A. Campbell co-founded it with the bioengineer Jen Flexman; his mother developed dementia after a brain injury sustained working as a psychiatric nurse, which is what pointed him at the problem. He previously founded the AI dementia-care companion Elovee and, before that, bLife, and was a Microsoft executive.
