About

The premise is that the app is the problem. Medication for obesity works better alongside behavioural support, but that support usually arrives as a download the patient has to remember to open, and adherence falls away. nymble health puts the programme in the channels people already read — standard SMS, Android RCS, iMessage and WhatsApp — so a patient never installs anything. Content is written by clinicians, including authors of the Canadian Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines, and the flagship six-week programme is built around patients starting GLP-1 medications. For organisations, the company sells the same engine as nymble Agent, Command and an API, and counts more than a dozen enterprise customers including Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall and Obesity Canada. Its reported outcomes are retention numbers rather than weight numbers: 65 percent of users still engaged at six months against roughly 30 percent for typical digital health apps, a 26 percent improvement in medication persistence in Ireland and a 21 percent lift in treatment retention in Germany. Co-founder and chief executive Puneet Seth is a practising family physician who was president and chief medical officer of InputHealth, the cloud EMR TELUS Health acquired in 2020; Megha Poddar, an obesity medicine specialist, is chief medical officer.
