About
Picatic was a Vancouver digital ticketing and event registration platform. It started with a crowdfunding twist on ticketing — organizers could create an event page and sell enough tickets to fund the event before booking a venue — and grew into a general ticketing and registration product serving organizers in dozens of countries, with offices that at various points included Toronto, Saskatoon, San Francisco and New York. Jayesh Parmar co-founded the company and was CEO. Eventbrite acquired Picatic in August 2018 and kept the team running out of Vancouver as its Canadian outpost, with Parmar continuing to lead it; that office wound down in April 2020. Parmar presented at TechVancouver in February 2016 on dogfooding — running your own product, and other local companies' products, as a way to find what is actually broken.
