About
PiinPoint helps businesses decide where to locate. Its software combines demographic, mobility and site data so a retailer planning to open hundreds of stores can rank every candidate location by likelihood of success. Jim Robeson and Adam Saunders met at the University of Waterloo and started the company in July 2013 out of the Velocity program; within roughly six months it was accepted into Y Combinator's 2014 batch. The company raised early seed capital but has since run lean and profitable rather than chasing large rounds, reaching about US$3.2M in revenue and 100+ customers by 2024.
Backers
Went through Y Combinator in 2014 and raised early seed capital; has since run largely self-funded and profitable rather than raising large rounds. Specific investors and totals are not publicly confirmed.
