About
Playlist is the parent that grew out of Mindbody's acquisition of ClassPass: studio management and booking software on one side, a consumer membership that sells unused class capacity on the other. Fritz Lanman, ClassPass's founding chairman and long-time CEO, is Playlist's CEO. In March 2026 the company announced a merger with EGYM — a German maker of smart gym equipment, AI workout programming and the Wellpass corporate wellness marketplace — valuing the combined business at $7.5 billion and coming with $785 million of new equity led by Affinity Partners, alongside Vista Equity Partners, Temasek and L Catterton. Lanman becomes co-founder of the combined company with EGYM chief executive Philipp Roesch-Schlanderer. He spoke at TechTO's Retail event in September 2020, then as ClassPass CEO, on reimagining the consumer experience.
Backers
Affinity Partners led the $785 million equity investment tied to the EGYM merger, with Vista Equity Partners, Temasek and L Catterton participating.
