Kerry Liu, Dan Theirl and Frank Thomas founded Rubikloud in Toronto in 2013, building a cloud-native machine learning platform that helped retailers and consumer goods companies plan demand and decide promotions. Intel Capital led a US$37M Series B in January 2018, bringing total capital raised to US$45M, alongside iNovia Capital, OTEAF, Horizons Ventures and Access Industries. Kinaxis announced an all-cash US$60M acquisition in June 2020 and closed it on 2 July 2020, with roughly 80 Rubikloud employees joining its AI and machine learning team. The brand no longer operates.
