SteadfastBeta

SteadfastBeta was a Toronto user-research company Alec Levin co-founded in the mid-2010s to help startups find out what their customers actually wanted — recruiting users, running the interviews, and turning what came back into product decisions. About

SteadfastBeta did user research for companies that needed to know whether they were building the right thing. Alec Levin described it from the TechTO stage in November 2015 in one line — a user research company that helps you figure out what your customers want — and his talk was the practical version of the same work: how to find a user to talk to, how to talk to them without leading them, and when in a product cycle to do it. Levin studied at the University of Toronto and had done user research and testing at Sciencescape before starting the company, and later worked in product and research at Thalmic Labs, Finaeo and Meta. He is now co-founder and CEO of Learners, which began as a Toronto meetup called the UXR Collective and became an online learning platform for researchers and designers.
