About
Traction began in 2014, started by Lloyed Lobo, Alex Popa and Ray Walia at the same time Lobo and Popa were building Boast.AI. The premise was that the conferences available at the time told high-level founder stories rather than teaching go-to-market mechanics, and that almost every startup struggles with the same thing: finding a repeatable, scalable way to get, keep and grow customers. Traction grew into a community of more than 100,000 founders and operators, running weekly webinars, monthly dinners and an annual conference that brings operators from fast-growing companies together with investors for tactical sessions. Lobo told the whole story on TechTO's Founder Journey podcast in 2023.
