About
Joseph Nakhla founded bazinga! in Vancouver in 2012, building a cloud platform to make condo and strata living less opaque: residents, councils and managers on the same system rather than paper notices and email chains. He has traced the idea to growing up in a six-unit low-rise in Alexandria, Egypt. The platform went national in 2014 through a partnership with the Toronto builder Tridel. In April 2017 the company acquired the property management arm of the Peterson Group and rebranded that side of the business Tribe, combining the software with the service it was meant to improve. The bazinga! platform name was retired in July 2021 in favour of Tribe Home. The company is now publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange, with Nakhla as CEO. He spoke on the TechVancouver stage in July 2017, in a talk he called 'The Cold Front', about the mental obstacles founders hit.
Backers
Publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange as TRBE; earlier private financings are not detailed here.
