About

Trufan started by telling brands who their most engaged followers actually were, and acquired SocialRank and PLAYR.gg along the way. In 2021 the team built Surf, which flipped the model — paying consumers for the data instead — and renamed the company Surf in 2022. Clients included Amazon, Netflix, the NBA and the NFL. Datacy acquired it in 2024.
