Turnstyle Solutions built a Wi-Fi marketing and loyalty platform that used venue Wi-Fi to recognise returning customers and deliver rewards. On stage at TechTO in June 2015, co-founder Devon Wright said the idea came from wanting to connect with fans at his band's live shows. Yelp acquired the company in 2017, reported at about US$20 million, and folded the technology into its location-marketing tools.
