Did Babak Barkhodaei co-found SkyPrep?
Yes. BetaKit reported on March 10, 2014 that he is SkyPrep's CEO and "the oldest of the three founding brothers", with his younger brother Sep as product manager and middle brother Arash as CTO.
What is his role today?
SkyPrep's about page, checked September 23, 2026, lists him first under "Our leadership" as Chief Executive Officer, alongside Arash Barkhodaee as CTO and Sepand Barkhodaee as chief product officer. The same page says SkyPrep serves more than a million users at over 500 companies from an office on Queen Street East in Toronto.
How did SkyPrep start?
BetaKit reported on March 10, 2014 that Babak and Arash had earlier run a training course for aspiring police officers, then built SkyPrep as the cloud e-learning platform they wished they had for it. The platform launched in January 2013 after a beta, and Babak said most of its growth came from referrals.
Why is his surname spelled differently from his brothers'?
SkyPrep's own about page, checked September 23, 2026, spells his name Barkhodaei and his brothers' names Barkhodaee. BetaKit's March 10, 2014 profile also uses Barkhodaei for him. This page follows each person's spelling as SkyPrep gives it.
