Did Chris Jensen co-found Left?
Yes. Maple Ridge News reported on March 9, 2018 that Chris Jensen co-founded Left with John Lyotier in 2010, working at first out of Jensen's basement, and that they called the company Left of the Dot because they were building a domain-name business. The Georgia Straight, profiling him on May 22, 2019, wrote of "Jensen, who cofounded Left.io and serves as its CEO."
What did Left do?
Two things. It ran a network of consumer travel brands, and it built RightMesh. The Georgia Straight described RightMesh on May 22, 2019 as technology letting people connect through a mesh network of cellphones instead of satellite, tower or WiFi infrastructure, and reported it being put to work in Rigolet, a remote coastal community in Labrador. A post on UpNext Group's own site dated December 1, 2025 lists the group as "the team behind Left Technologies, Left Travel, RightMesh, W3 Engineers."
Does Left still exist?
No. The same UpNext Group post of December 1, 2025, written by co-founder John Lyotier, says the company filed for creditor protection in June 2020 and bankruptcy in August 2020, ending "more than ten years of love, sweat, and tears." The left.io domain is not dead, though: it now redirects to travelai.com (checked September 22, 2026).
What does Chris Jensen do now?
He is a co-founder of TravelAI, which operates from the same Maple Ridge, British Columbia address. TravelAI's own site names John Lyotier and Chris Jensen as its founders and Lyotier as CEO and co-founder (checked September 22, 2026). On the Travel Trends podcast episode published January 7, 2025, host Dan Christian introduced the two as co-founders of TravelAI and asked Jensen about "your role as the chief operating officer."
