In their words
we've got to seize our moments or risk it passing forever, that if you don't do it who else will
you should be more fearful of what happens if you don't make your move
what we should have been fearing is the consequences of not acting
All we've done is taken that same unstructured text and uploaded it onto a computer screen and if you can't turn this into meaningful and usable data then all the insights remain trapped and you can't change lives.
What I realized during my clinical practice was that I wasn't going to be able to affect change in the healthcare system from within the healthcare system.
Quick answers
Who is Dr. Christopher Pettengell?
Pentavere's Chief Medical Officer — an Oxford-educated surgeon who practised for over a decade in the UK before moving into health AI. He is not a Pentavere founder; Aaron Leibtag and Steven Aviv founded the company.
What did he speak about at TechTO?
Resistance to change in healthcare, and how fear can be turned into a driver of innovation in health tech, at HealthTO in April 2019. He also presented Pentavere's MarketingTO Demo of the Month that September.
What does Pentavere's DARWEN do?
It reads unstructured clinical records and turns them into structured data — including finding patients eligible for a treatment they are not receiving. With Takeda it produced regulatory-grade real-world evidence on inflammatory bowel disease.
