In their words
Is it just because it's different or is it actually because it's not solving anything for them?
Quick answers
How does theScore prioritise product work?
Brown described two frameworks: a reversible-versus-irreversible by impact grid for quick calls on single features, and RICE, scoring reach, impact, confidence and effort, for the roadmap.
Why does theScore measure features year over year?
Because sports are seasonal. He noted a single extra NFL Sunday in a calendar month can move monthly active users by a couple hundred thousand, so daily and monthly comparisons mislead. Daily checks are reserved for bugs and negative signals.
What did he say about features that fail?
That failure is how you learn. He cited a content-type filter on the favourites feed that shipped and nobody used, and argued for cutting low-usage features when the engineering and maintenance cost outweighs their value.
