Did Eran Henig co-found Thriver?

Yes. BetaKit reported on April 4, 2017 that Henig, co-founder and CEO of Platterz, approached Yishay Waxman about food technology after finding it hard to order food for an office in New York. BetaKit described him on August 6, 2020 as "co-founder and CEO of Thriver" when Platterz rebranded.

Why did Platterz become Thriver?

Henig told BetaKit on August 6, 2020 that the founders had always meant to build a culture hub across food, wellness, education and team-building, and started with food because it was the most lucrative. VentureBeat quoted him the same day saying the pandemic moved wellness up the list.

What did he build before Platterz?

Tradyo, a Toronto app for buying and selling locally. BrainStation's magazine wrote on March 18, 2015 that Tradyo was started by Eran Henig and Gideon Hayden and bought by Metroland Media in 2014. BetaKit's April 4, 2017 article also notes he sold Tradyo to Metroland in 2014.

What happened to Thriver?

It was acquired by Gusto, the payroll and HR software company. Altair, an early Thriver investor, announced on October 9, 2024 that Thriver had "joined the Gusto family." Terms were not disclosed.
