Who is Eugene Woo?
Venngage's founder and chief executive. Venngage's about page, checked in September 2026, lists him as Chief Executive Officer and quotes him saying he was "born in Malaysia" and has called Canada home for over 20 years. Top Tech Tidbits described him in May 2026 as Venngage's co-founder and CEO.
Did he found Venngage?
Yes. BetaKit reported on October 10, 2012 that Woo was the founder of the newly launched Toronto startup Venngage, then part of the JOLT accelerator and raising a $1 million round. The Design Domination podcast in June 2024 and PR & Lattes in August 2024 both introduced him as Venngage's founder and CEO.
What did Eugene Woo do before Venngage?
He founded Vizualize.me, a tool that turned LinkedIn profiles into visual resumes. BetaKit reported in October 2012 that the earlier venture won Startup Weekend Toronto in June 2011, and World IA Day's speaker page for him, checked in September 2026, also names him as Vizualize.me's founder.
Why did he build Venngage?
He told BetaKit in October 2012 that existing tools were "too difficult to use, expensive and not great looking", and were enterprise analytics products unsuited to everyday business users.
