In their words
imagine if I could just text I want to stay at a hotel tomorrow night in New York, or I want to go away for two weeks to the Bahamas with my wife and my kids, and have an answer come back
with the goal of making it easier to book travel online and saying goodbye to forms and fields that we're all used to with the online travel sites of the world today
Quick answers
Who is Greg Apple?
CEO of AMGiNE, an AI booking-automation platform sold to travel management companies. He joined HelloGbye — AMGiNE's consumer travel app — as head of marketing in November 2014 and later led the company. Before travel he spent about 15 years in tech at Salesforce, SAS and Google.
What did he demo on the TechTO stage?
HelloGbye, twice. In August 2016 he typed a four-city itinerary in plain English and had it priced in seconds, then changed a leg mid-demo — something that would have meant starting over on a conventional booking site. He returned to TravelTechTO in July 2017 with the shipped iOS app and an American Express hotel-recommendation partnership.
What happened to HelloGbye?
It launched on the App Store in March 2017 as a brand of Amgine Technologies and was reported as no longer operating in April 2020. AMGiNE still trades, selling booking automation to travel management companies rather than a consumer app.
