Before Alma she co-founded Greenhouse Juice in 2014, where she was director of community before stepping away from an active role.

Yes. In a LinkedIn post dated 2023-12-15 she wrote that her inspiration had culminated in the co-founding of Alma Care, and that its first postnatal retreat in Toronto had recently opened. The Globe and Mail (2024-03-11) and CBC News (2024-05-12) also identified her, as Hana McConville, as Alma Care's co-founder.

What inspired Alma Care?

The Globe and Mail reported on 2024-03-11 that she followed zuo yue zi, or 'sitting the month', after each of her births, a practice from her Singaporean mother's side; CBC News reported on 2024-05-12 that she said the retreat model was inspired by that tradition.

What did she do before Alma Care?

Greenhouse's about page, checked September 2026, lists Hana James as a co-founder alongside Emma Knight and Anthony Green, with a January 2014 launch in Toronto. In her 2023-12-15 LinkedIn post she said she was Greenhouse's co-founder and director of community and was stepping away from an active role.
