Who is James Pickard?
A co-founder of Voltera, the Waterloo additive electronics company. Voltera's about page says the company was founded in 2013 by Jesus Zozaya, Katarina Ilić, James Pickard and Alroy Almeida. No current title is published here because none could be verified from a live first-party source.
How did Voltera start?
The University of Waterloo reported in November 2015 that the Voltera V-One began as the team's 2013 Engineering Capstone Design project, and named Pickard as a mechatronics engineering student on it. Waterloo's student paper The Iron Warrior reported in March 2015 that around the end of 2012, James came up with the idea of a rapid prototyping tool for electronics.
What has Pickard worked on at Voltera?
In a March 2024 RBCx profile, co-founder Jesus Zozaya said James "was on the mechanical and production side" in the early days. Voltera's May 2023 press release on NOVA winning Most Innovative New Product at CPES 2023 named him as Product Director and co-founder.
