Yes. University of Toronto alumni news reported on January 3, 2022 that she co-founded Three Ships Beauty in 2017 with Connie Lo, and that the pair were named to the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Three Ships' about page, checked September 23, 2026, carries a founders' note signed "Connie & Laura".

In a Women of Influence Q&A published on June 25, 2025, she said she studied chemical engineering at the University of Toronto and expected to work in oil and gas. U of T alumni news, January 3, 2022, says she earned her BASc in 2016 and credits a fourth-year entrepreneurship course with the idea to start a business.

How did Three Ships start?

The Honest Talk reported on June 3, 2024 that she and Lo each put $2,000 into the brand, and quoted her: "I still have the note on my phone from when I kept coming back to this idea of natural makeup remover." The Forum Pitch, September 27, 2023, says she sourced early ingredients at her local Whole Foods, which later stocked Three Ships.

Is she the same person as Laura Thompson?

It appears so. Women of Influence's June 25, 2025 Q&A is headlined "Connie Lo and Laura Thompson, Co-founders, Three Ships", while its opening says Connie Lo and Laura Burget co-founded the brand, and it links a LinkedIn profile under the Thompson name.
