In their words
I learned the art of guest service in the tourist industry, and I saw a hole in the market for locals who deserve that sort of wellness and care as well.
I'm an aesthetician, and it is not lost on me for a moment that I have the ability to make people feel really good or bad. So I don't take that for granted. Fortunately, I use my powers for good.
One of the villains is comparison. You've got to stop comparing yourself to Joe down the street who looks like they're doing exactly the same thing. They're still not you.

Quick answers
What is Elite Spa Group?
A spa business in Ontario's Niagara region, founded and run by Lindsay Moore. She opened her first location about 14 years ago after a career in resort and destination spas, and has since grown it to more than one site.
How does she compete in a saturated market?
Consistency, in her word. She told the TechTO Commerce audience that health, wellness and beauty is one of the most saturated categories there is, everyone claims expertise, and what she promises instead is the same guest experience every time.
What is her advice on marketing a small business?
Start before it's perfect, and stop comparing yourself to the competitor down the street. She called digital marketing a non-negotiable, and noted that people's attention spans are short enough that a bad post is forgotten within a week.
