Quick answers

Did Martin Muñoz co-found Crowdmark?

Yes. Crowdmark's Our Story page, checked 2026-10-16, captions a photo 'Cofounders James Colliander, Michelle Caers, and Martin Muñoz' and says Colliander 'partnered with his graduate student, Martin Muñoz' to build the prototype. Colliander's own Crowdmark blog post 'Idea to prototype' (2013-03-05) says the company launched through the UTEST accelerator in May 2012 'with two founders: Martin Muñoz and me.'

What was Martin Muñoz's background before Crowdmark?

He was a mathematics graduate student at the University of Toronto. The Networks of Centres of Excellence of Canada (page modified 2014-09-24) describes Crowdmark as founded by U of T professor James Colliander and 'University of Toronto graduate student Martin Muñoz'. Crowdmark's press release of 2013-06-11 credits the assessment interface to co-founders Colliander (Professor of Mathematics) and Muñoz (Researcher and Developer).

Has Martin Muñoz spoken at TechTO?

No. Crowdmark's chief executive Michelle Caers spoke at TechTO on 2016-10-02, presenting 'KYC - Know Your Customer' for her design firm DesignedUX rather than for Crowdmark.

Where is Martin Muñoz based, and is he still at Crowdmark?

No public page states his current role or where he lives. Crowdmark's team page, checked 2026-10-16, lists Michelle Caers as CEO & Cofounder and James Colliander as Cofounder but does not list Muñoz, which suggests he is no longer with the company. The most recent coverage naming him dates from 2013-2014.
