Matt Golden founded Golden Ventures in Toronto in 2011 and runs the seed fund as managing partner. It has backed more than 100 companies, among them Wattpad, SkipTheDishes, ApplyBoard, Faire and Waabi, and closed nearly $140 million for its fifth fund in 2024. He co-founded the mobile publisher Tira Wireless before investing.
